Definition | 1. A major connector crossing the hard palate to connect the right and left sides of a partial denture in the posterior region. It is rarely used alone, being most suitable for short tooth-supported flanges or in conjunction with another major connector. 2. In orthodontics, an appliance with a bar or wire connecting teeth on opposite sides of the palate, often used as a palatal expander. |
