Definition | A PFM crown with metal on the occlusal surface and porcelain on the buccal, sometimes chosen when: 1. The occlusal surface is too thin for porcelain. 2, There is a need for the occlusal surface to be made from a less abrasive material like gold. 3. The porcelain would be at risk of fracture if left in occlusion. |
